----------------------------------------

Did Arthur and his wife, Caroline, divorce shortly after 1940? On his WWII Draft Registration card, his listed his contact as his mother instead of the expected wife.
---------------------------------------

What is also strange about the various residences of Arthur is that the 1940 US Census shows one child, named Geralding as a son (possibly should be Geraldine as a daughter) with a birth location of South Dakota. Based on the age of the child, they would have lived in South Dakota sometime around 1932 or 1933. Yet the US Census shows them living in Minneapolis in 1930 and the Winona (Minnesota) City Directory shows them living there in 1934. They would have had to move to South Dakota for only a few short years and then would have had to move back to Minnesota. There are no records of a marriage to Carroll or Caroline and no records of a birth of Geraldine or Geralding.
