Theodore Calvin Shafer died suddenly at his home, south of Middletown, about 12:15 o'clock Friday morning, death being due to a heart attack. He was 62 years, three months, and 16 days. He was a contractor by trade and a well-known carpenter. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Effie J. Shafer and the following children: Mrs. Ruth Rice, of Wilmington, Del.,; Mrs. Elsie Kinna, Middletown; Mrs. Marie Zentz,Thurmont; Harry, Calvin, Joseph, Oscar, and Emory Shafer, Near Middletown; also the following sisters and brothers, Mrs. Homer Ridenour, Frederick; William Shafer, Springfield, OH; Elmer Shafer and Leslie Shafer, Middletown; and Stanley and Frank Shafer, Frederick.

Funeral Sunday afternoon in Christ Reformed Church, Middletown, leaving the home at 2 o'clock. Rev. John S. Adam, officiating. Interment in Reformed Cemetery. C.T.F. Gladhill, funeral director.
