Their first 3 children were born in Onalaska, WI but the 4th one was born in North Dakota in 1901. That birth date is interesting because on the 1900 US Census Ida was enumerated in North Dakota in June and at the time she indicated that she was already widowed. But then sometime in 1901 is when her 4th child was born, Olof.

Could she have gotten pregnant shortly before Ole died sometime in the first 6 months of 1900, then Ole died, and then Ida gave birth to his son in 1901? Any death certificate or notice about Ole has yet to be found. Or did they merely separate and divorce with Ida and the children moving back to Wisconsin between 1900 and 1910?
