General Notes:
Jacob's birth location is somewhat confusing. Some sources state Pennsylvania while others state Ohio. On his own Death Certificate it states Perry County, Ohio but that was provided by his son, John. On other death certificates for some of his children, their father's birth location was usually given as Pennsylvania but one states Somerset County, Ohio. There is no Somerset county in Ohio but there is one in Pennsylvania. On the 1880 census, Jacob indicated Pennsylvania but on the 1900 census he indicated Ohio.

Batzole and Sarah Ernsberger, on 20 April 1855 in , Sandusky County, OH.1 2 3 (Sarah Ann Batzole was born on 22 February 1838 in Ballville Township, Sandusky, OH,2 3 4 7 8 9 10 died on 29 November 1916 in Toledo, OH 9 10 and was buried on 1 December 1916 in Custar, OH 9 10.). The cause of her death was Bronchopneumonia.5
