Franklin Arnsbarger ^{2 3}

   Cause of his death was Typhoid fever.¹

  General Notes:

There is a discrepancy in the birth register for Franklin in that it lists his brother's name, Charles, as the newborn child in 1881. The son, Charles, is known to have been born in 1873. The register listing in 1881 does show Orlando and Mina as the parents but the name Franklin is not shown.

Throughout Franklin's life, I can find no document that shows the names of his parents. If such a document could be found, it would confirm that the birth in 1881 was indeed Franklin and not another child named Charles. Nearly all researchers agree that it was Franklin that was born in 1881 but no document is ever cited.

The missing 1890 US Census would be a prime source of such a document as it would prove that both Charles and Franklin were living with their parents at the time.

NOTE - There is something strange about this entry in the birth register for Fulton County, Ohio in that it gives the name of the newborn as Charles. Orlando and Mina already had a son named Charles who was born in 1873 and appeared with his parents in the 1880 US Census. He lived into his 70s. How or why this entry once again lists the name of Charles being born in 1881 is a mystery but this entry does list Orlando and Mina as the parents. The true name of the newborn was most likely Franklin.

Franklin married Jennie M. Smith, daughter of Henry Theodore Smith and Hattie V. Hiett, in November 1899 in Morenci, MI.^{1 2} (Jennie M. Smith was born on 8 August 1881 in Mayfield, MI,^{1 2 5 6} died on 3 August 1946 in Swanton, OH ^{1 6} and was buried after 3 August 1946 in Swanton, OH ⁶.)
