¹¹ Mrs. Verena Schafnit, 87, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday at Muscatine General hospital. She resided at 806 E. 11th St.

She was born June 18, 1877 in Cedar County Iowa. She lived most of her life in Cedar and Muscatine Counties.

She married Fred Schafnit March 26, 1906 in Muscatine County.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian church and O.E.S. of Atalissa.

She is survived by one son, Burt J. Schafnit, Atalissa; two daughters, Clara J. Schafnit, Muscatine, and Mrs. George (Gladys B) Morrison, Atalissa; one brother, E. M. Crees, Muscatine; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Adams, Bettendorf, Mrs Clarence Black, Blackwell, Oklahoma and Mrs. Ernest Fiderlein, Atalissa: seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Her parents, husband, two sisters, and three brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. (CDT) Thursday at the George M. Wittich funeral home.

Rev. Leo Jeambe will officiate.

Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery.
