Bennett's father was born in Paris, Illinois but several of Bennett Sr.'s siblings were born in England prior to the family coming to the US around 1850. It would appear that most of the Storey family members all moved to Kansas including Bennett Sr. with his wife, Rozenia Darnell, whom he married in Kansas in 1887. She was born in Wayne County, Ohio and there is not much information about her family but it appears that her parents or grandparents also moved to Kansas. Bennett Jr. had ten other siblings, all born in Kansas.
