NOTE - Walter Keafauver was listed as a "grandson" of Joseph Shafer. Walter's birth year would have been 1868 but Joseph's oldest daughter, Laura, was not married until 1869. Therefore, I'm not exactly sure who the mother of Walter Keafaver would have been. One possibility is that Walter's mother or father was a child born to the first marriage of Elizabeth Abrecht to Peter Shafer thus making Walter a step-son instead of a grandson.
