⁶ Died of Heart Failure, Daniel Fast, at Johnstown, Nebraska, October 27, 1899; age 71 years and 26 days. The funeral was held Sunday morning, October 30th in the U. B. church, Rev. A. A. Garner, officiating. The deceased was born in Fairfield county, Ohio, October 1, 1828. September 15, 1852, he was married to Ann Dora Kiser, and settled in Mercer county, Ohio. To them were born four children, three of whom are living --- Mrs. Elisabeth Cantwell of Celina, Ohio, Mrs. Martha Allen Ashbaugh and Eli Fast of Johnstown, NE. These with their grief-stricken mother and her two orphaned grand children. Mrs. W. W. Parsons and Zura Webb, whom they raised and a host of other relatives and friends are left to mourn. Mr. and Mrs. Fast moved to Johnstown, Nebraska, in the spring of 1884, where they remained in business and farming, examples of industry and frugality. He had been a member of the U. B. church about 25 years, and was a man of honesty and integrity, charitable and generous to a fault. He will be greatly missed. --- A. Garner
