In Sep 2002, I attempted to locate the Howser Cemetery but was unable to gain access. This very remote cemetery is only reachable by driving past the apparent end of a county road as it continues into a farmer's field of corn. There is then another side path that takes you about 200 yards towards a grove of trees and the cemetery is located there. In Sep 2002 when I attempted to visit, the fields were too wet for vehicular traffic. (Brian L. Lightfoot)

  Marriage Notes:

Names on marriage license were "John Howzer" and "Polly Arnsparger". This spelling of "Howzer" instead of "Howser" or "Houser" may be a transcription error when creating the electronic index of marriages for Family Archive #229. Or it may be just a common spelling error when his name was written into the record.

Jessamine County Book of Marriages, page 36, lists "Houser-Howser, John ( groom)" and "Polly Arnsparger (bride)" on 20 Jan 1800. It also shows "Abram Howser" as the bondsman, and "Powell Arnsparger (FB)" as giving consent. I assume that "Powell" is "Paul Arnsparger" and that "FB" means "Father of Bride".
