bullet  General Notes:

The grandson, Franklin Lynch, was born to Francis' daughter, Lora, from his 1st wife, Nancy Boggs. Lora's husband, Pembrooke Lynch, had died in 1894 and she remarried in 1898 but apparently did not want to raise her son so Franklin was sent to his grandfather's to live.
------------------------------------------------

There is some difficulty in knowing the exact name of this person. Some records show Joseph Franklin Lynch but there are other records to show that Joseph Franklin Lynch apparently died on the same date as his birth. There are also some other records that indicate the same Joseph Franklin Lynch registered for the WW I Draft in about 1918 and also the WW II Draft in 1942.

There are also records that indicate his name may have been John Franklin Lynch but most those records indicate that this person was born about 5 months earlier in July instead of November. It appears that this person died on 11 Oct 1918 and was the son of John Lynch and Minnie Marshall Bryan.

Calhoun WV Marriages
Groom: LYNCH, Frank
Age: 22
Birthplace: Calhoun
Parent: Brook (deceased)
Bride: GAINER, Monnie
Age: 17
Birthplace: Calhoun
Parents: N/G
Marriage date: 05 Apr 1916
----------------------------------------

The 1920 US Census shows Monnie living at the home of her parents along with her one son Vere Lynch who was born in 1919. The census indicates that she was married but there was no mention of the father, Joseph Franklin Lynch. At least one researcher shows that Joseph Franklin Lynch had died on 5 Apr 1916 which would mean that the son, Vere Lynch, could not be his. Did Monnie remarry between 1916 and 1920? There are no records to indicate any such second marriage.
