Wymer of Primrose Street passed away March 11, 2006, in a local hospital. She was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was a retired nurse, graduating with the first class of the Norfolk Public Schools/Norfolk General Hospital's School of Nursing in 1962. She volunteered at Bon Secours DePaul Hospital for a number of years. She was a much-loved member of the Bayview Senior's Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Chief Petty Officer Charles L. Wymer. Survivors include two sons, George H. Wymer and Charles E. Wymer; one daughter, Catherine Wymer Dozier; and four much-loved grandchildren, Joy Wymer Young, Jennifer Dozier Sturges, Tammy Wymer Black and Jonathan Dozier. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the SPCA.
