Nellie Relfe ^{1 2}

  General Notes:

This is Nellie Relfe (not Ralfe).
Nellie was b. 16 Jun 1880, probably in Grant Co., IN, to Joseph Warren Relfe (25 Aug 1854-27 May 1932) and Mary Ann Buller (5 Jan 1857-11 Jan 1912). Nellie d. 25 Oct 1913 and is buried in Park Cem., Fairmount, Grant Co., IN. This Relfe line can be traced to Josiah Relfe b. abt 1778 in Pasquotank Co., NC. Josiah's son, Malachi, was one of the early settlers in Madison Co., IN.

Nellie and Rufus M. Fast had two daughters, Mary Rachel Fast, b. 7 Feb 1909, and Helen May Fast, b. 23 Jan 1911. Census records indicate both were b. in IN; based on available information, both girls probably were born in Grant Co. Rufus, Nellie, and Mary are in Fairmount, Grant Co., IN, in the 1910 census.

I have not yet located Rufus, Nellie, and Helen in the 1920 census. However, by 1930, Rufus had remarried. His wife's name was Harriet, and the two were living with daughter Helen in Potwin, Butler Co., KS. Daughter Mary was living as a lodger in El Dorado City, Butler Co., KS in 1930. By 1940, all four were living in the same household El Dorado City, Butler Co., KS.

Nellie married Rufus Monroe Fast, son of Josephus S. Fast and Rachel Elizabeth Hoppel, on an unknown date. (Rufus Monroe Fast was born on 9 February 1879 in Ohio ^{1 2 3} and died on 24 July 1958 ^{1 2}.)
