⁷ Died Monday, May 15, 1989 at the Gilbert Residence after a short illness. She was born September 28, 1886 in Milan, Michigan, the daughter of William and Sarah (Brooks) Buxton. Mrs. Renton moved to the Ypsilanti area in 1910. On June 30, 1910 she married Herbert A. Renton in Milan and he preceded her in death in 1969. As a youth Mrs. Renton attended the York Baptist Church and after her marriage became a member of the First Baptist Church of Ypsilanti. She was also a member of the Navy Mothers, during World War II and a member of the Ypsilanti Garden Club. Survivors include one daughter, Ruth M. Renton of Ann Arbor; one sister, Gladys Pullen of Saline; one daughter-in-law, Elaine Andersen of Lighthouse Pointe, FL; one nephew and several nieces. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Louise R. Peck in 1988 and two sons, Roy Warner Renton in 1947 and Herbert Boyd Renton in 1922. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 17, at 12:00 noon at the First Baptist Church of Ypsilanti with the Rev. Vivan Martindale officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Contributions in Mrs. Renton's honor may be made to the Memorial Fund of the First Baptist Church or the Salvation Army. Envelopes will be available at the church where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
