⁵ LYCURGUS P. SHAFER died suddenly at 11:45 o'clock Tuesday morning of paralysis of the heart at the home of his son, Lunzie Shafer, near Middletown. He was aged 74 years, 2 months and 22 days.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Miller and Mrs. Blanche Clark, Smithsburg; and Mrs. Mae Lutz, Middletown; sons, Lloyd E., and Luther A., both of this city; Lunzie, Middletown; and two brothers, Robert, near Downsville, and William, near Baltimore.

Funeral services Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from his late home. Interment in the Reformed cemetery, Middletown.
