⁵ Lester Grafton Lightfoot, a resident of Porter county for 25 years and a member of Roosevelt Lodge, 719, died in Mercy hospital, Gary, Tuesday, following a brief illness. He resided at 11517 East 24th Street, Garyton.

The decedent was a son of Earl B. Lightfoot, formerly of Boone Grove and Valparaiso, and Mrs. Bert Slagle of Garyton, both deceased.

He was a commanding pilot around the airports in the vicinity of Gary and a pilot for Pan American Air lines conveying bombers form Miami to the Far East in this war.

Surviving are a son, Richard, and one brother, Albert.

Memorial services will be held at the First Community church of Christ in Garyton at 2 PM Friday with Rev. Harley Franklin officiating under the direction of Roosevelt Lodge 716. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Friends may call at the Anderson funeral home in Gary until noon Friday when it will be removed to the church for services.
